New Greenhouse!

A big thank you to everyone who took part in the Bags2school fundraising events up to September last year.

A big thank you to everyone who took part in the Bags2school fundraising events up to September last year. After dismantling the old greenhouse in the courtyard at school to make way for our new sensory play area we have finally erected the new greenhouse in the allotment area at school. This greenhouse is great because it has a zero threshold, which means our wheelchair users can now gain access independently.

I have been busy looking after the plants the pupils planted before lockdown, including our entry into the National Schools Potato Growing competition. We will be weighing them as per competition rules on the 16th of June to see how we have done. Fingers crossed! All the fish in the pond are well and our winter onions are growing really big and strawberries have lots of fruit on them.

We are now clearing out the container and organising the greenhouse so we are all ready for next year. We look forward to having our next group in the autumn. Until then stay safe and well and maybe try to grow some of your own fruit and veg at home!
