County Boccia Champions

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Culverhill finishing in First and Second place!

On Thursday the 12th of December, while the rest of the country had election fever, the Culverhill Boccia Club were busy competing in the Gloucestershire Schools County Competition at Brimsham Green School.

The twelve members of our after school Boccia Club were divided into 3 teams, imaginatively named Culverhill One, Culverhill Two and Culverhill Three, based on their experience playing Boccia.  It was a very busy competition, with every team playing six matches.  Culverhill One – Jodie, Jack, Lauren, Josh and Marshall - and Culverhill Two – Sophie, Charlie and Sam - played incredibly well, with both teams winning five out of their six games.  This was the first competition for Culverhill Three – Finley, Luke, Harrison and Nathan and not only did they gain lots of valuable competition experience but they also won two of their matches.

In addition to playing some fantastic Boccia, all of our teams demonstrated great sportsmanship and respect for their opponents and the officials throughout the competition.  In short they were a credit to Culverhill School.

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Culverhill Two and One for finishing in First and Second place respectively. This fantastic result means that Culverhill School are the Gloucestershire Schools County Boccia Champions for the second year running and, as such, will be competing in the South-West England Regional Competition in Exeter in February!   Go team Culverhill!
