Home learning & SeeSaw - A BIG Thankyou!

A big thank you for your support!

Thank you to parents for engaging with SeeSaw and home learning. We have observed some incredible work so far! We are however not expecting children to be doing school work throughout the whole school day. There is an expectation to do a couple of pieces of work on SeeSaw per day only (an hour maximum). Teaching staff will be providing English, Maths and PSHE only. These areas are particularly critical to maintain. We would also encourage children to do some reading at least once a day. We do appreciate that home is not school and that everyone is doing their best in these difficult circumstances.

We do believe that children whilst at home should have the following opportunities which we imagine will already be happening:

•             Rest and relaxation time

•             Life skills practice in the home

•             Social conversation time with the family.

•             Play opportunities

•             Fresh air in the garden/balcony

Useful activities and ideas

•             ELSA explanation of virus https://www.culverhillschool.org.uk/page/?title=Home+Learning+Packs&pid=296

•             Gardening

•             David Walliams story books online

•             Family reading/story time

•             Family social games

All staff at Culverhill have been instructed not to send any learning home during the Easter holidays so children and staff have a break from school work. We anticipate the coming months to be challenging and it will be important to have a refreshed workforce during this time. Many thanks for your continued support during these unprecedented circumstances.
