Headteacher's welcome

Inspire     Nurture     Thrive

Dear whole school community and beyond,

I am delighted and honoured to be in post as the Headteacher for Culverhill School. I have worked with our wonderful pupils, families and staff for over 10 years now. It is a privilege to lead our School. Our pupils are incredibly resilient, enthusiastic and inspiring young people. Inspire, Nurture, Thrive is at the heart of everything we do, and we use this vision in everyday conversations to check the validity of the work we do.

I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to lead this incredible school. As the leader of Culverhill School, my main job is to make sure pupils feel safe, happy and fulfil their potential. Families make an important contribution to their child’s development and achievement in school and from my experience a happy and successful child depends on us all working together.

I know that education has the power to positively influence children’s lives. I am dedicated to building opportunities for students to achieve their full potential, both in academics and in life skills. I will ensure that they are known well as individuals and that their unique personality, talents and interests are nurtured and developed to the fullest.

At Culverhill School education is about developing the whole child through a safe, creative and inspiring learning environment, providing opportunities for every individual to thrive within and beyond the classroom. Staff and governors here work closely with parents and other professionals to make the most of a child’s strengths and interests, ensuring that they feel engaged, happy and safe, enabling them to maximise their individual potential.  We build self-esteem, resilience, confidence and independence within our whole school community in an atmosphere where everyone is valued and individual achievement and success is always acknowledged and celebrated. We aim to establish an educational community built on trust, respect, openness, honesty, compassion, excellent communication, integrity and a deep sense of doing what is right for our pupils.

We look forward to meeting you and warmly welcoming you to the Culverhill and Enable Trust family.

Warmest regards

Chris Walker
